REVEALED: Why four more goals from Martial will cost United £8million

Anthony Martial is four goals away from costing Manchester United £8million.

The France international will activate a clause in the deal that took him from Monaco to Old Trafford last year by scoring his 25th goal for the Red Devils.

Monaco initially received £36million, but once Martial reaches 25 goals, the Premier League outfit will be obliged to send a further £8.4million to the Ligue 1 side.

Martial was already the most expensive teenager in football history, but the investment will likely balloon before the New Year.

Jose Mourinho has taken Martial in and out of the side, dropping the 20-year-old for games against Feyenoord and West Ham recently.

After a sterling performance in the EFL Cup though, Martial is sure to be rewarded with a lengthy spell in the side.

The only negative of that will be the inevitable financial cost to United, though Mourinho will care little about that should the Red Devils kick start a stuttering season heading into the festive period.
