JCI Ondo Kingdom peace novelty game ends in stalemate
The Hausa community turned in a superb display to hold their Igbo opponents in the game organised to mark the World Peace Day
Junior Chamber International, Ondo Kingdom's peace novelty match between the Hausa and Igbo community in Ondo town ended in a 3-3 draw.
The novelty game played at the Ondo Township Stadium on Friday, was organised as part of the #peaceispossible project ahead the International World Peace Day billed for September 21, 2016.
The Igbo community bossed possession in the first-half and were able to hit two goals past the Hausas, who clawed back in the second half to avoid defeat.
“This game is to establish the fact sports is a key tool to promote unity in Nigeria. If we have more of this kind, there would not be as much chaos and destruction as we have in the country today,” said JCIN Amb. Anthony Adeniranye, national vice president JCI Nigeria north east D2 after the game.
