Liverpool Keeper Out For Two Months For Punching Team-Mate

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has broken his hand punching his own player.

The £4.7million signing from Mainz was expected to start the looming season as the Reds ‘ new No 1, but he will now be out of action for a minimum two months.

Karius suffered the injury during the friendly against Chelsea in Pasadena on Wednesday night, when he attempted to clear a cross and instead slammed his fist into the head of team-mate Dejan Lovren.

The German broke a bone in his hand when he connected with the Croatian defender’s bonce and, after a scan in the States, medics have decided he will need surgery.
