Man City beat BVB on penalties

The Premier League side seemed to have settled the tie when Sergio Aguero opened the scoring, but a late goal from Thomas Tuchel's charges forced it into penalties
Jose Tasende was the hero for Manchester City as he scored the winning penalty as they beat Borussia Dortmund 6-5 in a shootout.

After thrashing Manchester United 4-1, the Bundesliga side turned their attention to the Red Devils' local rivals, but were unable to truly dominate against Guardiola's new charges.

A tame, slow affair was brought to life by City's star man Sergio Aguero opened the scoring in the second half, only for Dortmund to fight back and pull level with the last kick of the ball.

The breakthrough finally came deep in the second half when David Silva ran onto a neat pass in the area as City slipped in behind the BVB defence.

The Spain international squared to Aguero and it was a simple tap in to give Pep Guardiola's men the lead.

There was a contentious moment in injury time in the second half when Shinji Kagawa went down in the box, but the referee waved away the penalty claims.

However, BVB fought back and when a short corner was played onto Pulisic, who blasted in and forced the game into penalties, where City won 6-5.
