RUMOURS: Madrid back in Pogba race

The European champions initially bowed out of the battle to lure the 23-year-old Juventus midfielder to the Spanish capital but the coach has insisted they re-enter the race

Zinedine Zidane has insisted Real Madrid re-enter the race to sign Juventus star Paul Pogba, according to AS.

The European champions conceded defeat to Manchester United in the battle to lure the 23-year-old midfielder, admitting they cannot compete with the financial power of their rivals.

However,Los Blancos's inability to sign Andre Gomes from Valencia, who opted to join Barcelona, has prompted Zidane to signal to president Florentino Perez to give it another go at buying the highly-coveted France international.

The French coach believes Pogba is the midfielder who can enhance the team's midfield as they look to retain their Champions League crown and regain their status at the top of Spanish football.
