NPFL Match Day 25 Review: Rangers hold Wikki, Enyimba close up gap

Wikki Tourists and Enugu Rangers played out a goalless draw in their top-of-the-table clash on Sunday.
Despite dropping points at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Wikki still top the Nigeria Professional Football League (NFPL) with 42 points, two more than Rangers who remain second.

Enyimba however closed up the gap on their rivals, after a 2-0 victory over El-Kanemi Warriors in Port Harcourt. Nzube Anazemba and Ezekiel Bassey scored for the People’s Elephants.


MFM FC won the ‘Lagos Derby’, beating Ikorodu United 3-1 at the Agege Stadium. The match had Governor of Lagos State, Akinwumi Ambode, in attendance.

Akwa United fought back from a goal down to defeat Kano Pillars 2-1 in Uyo, Abia Warriors suffered their second home loss of the season losing 1-0 to Plateau United and Heartland lost 2-0 to Lobi Stars.

Niger Tornadoes beat Warri Wolves 2-0, while the game between IfeanyiUbah FC and Sunshine Stars ended goalless.
