Chelsea star's exit on the rocks over huge wages

Defender Zouma, 21, has been linked with a move away from Chelsea in order to regain his form.

The France international has started 20 games for Chelsea this term during the club's plummet down the Premier League table.

And there are claims in Italy that new Blues manager Guus Hiddink is willing to loan out the former St-Etienne man.

It emerged yesterday that Lazio were considering an offer to take Zouma on loan until the end of the season.
The Rome club are even willing to pay Chelsea an upfront fee of £740,000 (€1million) to land the ace.

But Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claim Lazio are unwilling to cover Zouma's reported £40,000-a-week wages.
Chelsea would expect any interested club to pick up Zouma's full salary as part of the deal.

And Gazzetta suggest Lazio's stance could lead Napoli or Fiorentina to muscle in on the player.
