President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday during his ongoing rally in Imo State, has promised to protect the women in the country from what he described as neglect by previous administration that came before him.
The president, who also promised to consolidate on his youth empowerment programmers for the youths in the country, said his administration when returned next month, would embark on massive employment as well as focus on training them on commercial agriculture for greater productivity and empowerment.
“Nigerian women must be protected and we would continue to protect them and our youths; they have been looked down upon, but today, people all over the world are appreciative of our young men and women courtesy of our administration; today people can now celebrate people like kanu Nwankwo, Joseph yobo, Chioma Ajunwa and others”. said Jonathan.
While emphasising the achievements of his administration, President Jonathan said his administration has excelled in sports more than any administration, attributing the feat to the interest showed on the youths and sports.
He maintained that his administration would continue to give quality education to the students and pupils in the country through the Universal Basic Education Commission.
Governorship candidate of the party, Emeka Ihedioha, who was presented with the party’s flag to contest the governorship seat of the state in his speech, claimed that the state has been in bondage since the inception of Governor Rochas Okorocha’s administration.
Ihedioha affirmed that the people of the state are yearning for change urging the people of the state to vote PDP for the desired change needed to transform the state.
