2 Men Declare Wanted Over Underage And Gay Relationship In Anambra

Two men have been declared wanted in Enugwu-Ukwu Local Government Area of Anambra State for allegedly engaging in homosexual activities with underage boys in the community.

According to sources, there had also been many complaints from members of the community concerning the gay activities of the two men, and the natives been investigating the issue foe some time.

Mr Chibuike Isulu, the community youth leader on Tuesday said the suspects identified as Ugochukwu Ifemelumma and Nweze Emmanuel, are wanted by the community to answer for their atrocious acts and for going contrary to the laws of the land and the laws of Nigeria.

Only Ifemelumman hails for the comunnity, while his partner, Emmanuel, is said to hail from Ebonyi state.

According to Leadership newspapers, Ifemelumma when contacted via phone confirmed the development, saying he had to run away from the community for the fear of being killed by the aggrieved youths of the community.

However, Isulu (the youth leader) insists the community will not carry out jungle justice on the men, stressing that they only want the men to come and defend themselves before the people. He added that if eventually found guilty, the men would be handed over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution.

“Homosexuality and same sex union are crimes, both in the laws of our land and the laws of Nigeria. We have been getting reports that Ifemelumma and Emmanuel had been practicing these acts in our community for several years.

“We have investigated the claims and we want both men to come and defend themselves. We do not want to kill them; neither do we want to deal with them ourselves. We only want our culture to take its course and for anyone who had gone against our customs and tradition to be made to answer for their actions,” the youth leader said.
