Everyone Make Way For The World’s LOUDEST Bicycle Horn

It’s loud, and its owner’s proud.
The Guinness World Record for the world’s loudest bicycle horn now belongs to “The Hornster,” and one of its developers, Yannick Read, isn’t afraid to toot his own horn.

“The Hornster gets quite a strong reaction,” he says in the video above.
Instead of the quaint sq££ze-honk variety, this baby is a “modified freight train horn” powered by a scuba diving tank, according to Guinness’ YouTube description.

Its blast can reach 136.2 db(A), which can be louder than a jet at takeoff.
Read tells Guinness that his neighbors are “long suffering” because of the blare, but he and colleagues at the United Kingdom’s Environmental Transport Association created the contraption for an important reason: to highlight the substantial accident rate between trucks and bicycles. He says in the video above that trucks cannot hear a typical bicycle horn; he amped up the sound so it can be noticed.
