Niger Government Provides Evidence Against NTA Reporter
Less than 24 hours after a report emerged that a reporter of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, Fejiro Oliver, tried to blackmail Governor Muazu Aliyu of Niger State, the state government has provided what it claimed were text message exchanges between it and the journalist.
It would be recalled that the Niger State command of the SSS on Monday paraded Oliver for demanding N50 million from the state government to as a condition for dropping a story on alleged fraudulent activities within the government.
While parading the suspect before journalists, the state director, of the SSS, Larry Obiagwu, said the journalist was arrested by his men at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja while on his way to Minna to collect the said amount.
However, according to latest Premium Times report, the Niger state government on Tuesday exposed text messages detailing conversation between Oliver and an official of the state government.
