Four injured as bus crashes into Lagos bank
A commercial bus driver has been admitted to the Federal Medical Centre, Ebute-Meta, Lagos, after his vehicle crashed into a branch office of the First Bank of Nigeria Plc at the Oyingbo bus stop on Saturday.
Our correspondent learnt that three other passengers were injured in the incident which occurred around 9am.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the driver had lost control of the bus before it crashed into the bank.
A witness, who did not identify himself, said, “The vehicle was fully loaded with passengers and the driver was heading for Oyingbo when the brake failed. He struggled to avoid running into people; he crashed into the bank.”
A security man on the premises of the bank, who confirmed the incident, showed our correspondent the damaged sign board of the bank.
“A total of four people were injured. They have been taken to a hospital around here,” he added.
Our correspondent learnt that policemen from the Denton division took custody of the vehicle, while the passengers, who escaped unscathed, left for their various destinations.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said she would call back, but she had yet to do so as of press time.
