Holiday tragedy averted as FGC students survive crash

Six students of Federal Government College, Abaji, Abuja, cheated death on Thursday, when the vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a truck along the Abuja-Lokoja Road.

It was learnt that the students were on their way home for the Christmas and New Year holidays when their vehicle ran into a truck belonging to Dangote Group.

The students sustained varying degrees of injuries and were taken to Abaji General Hospital for medical attention.

No life was lost in the accident which occurred around 9.45 am.

An eyewitness, who declined to identify himself, said the vehicle conveying the students was trying to overtake another one when it rammed into the Dangote truck parked by the roadside.

The vehicle was damaged and its windscreen shattered by the impact of the crash.

The Head, Media Relations and Strategy, Federal Road Safety Corps, Bisi Kazeem confirmed the incident, saying eight persons were involved in the accident.
