Redclick app to boost taxi operation in Nigeria

A new online technology app, Redclick, has been introduced by Citrans Global Limited, the operator of Red Cab taxi service. The App is aimed at boosting taxi operation in Nigeria, the organisation’s Managing Director, Stella Okolo has said.

According to her, the move is part of efforts to rebrand the company’s business activities and take advantage of information communication technology (ICT).

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony in Lagos, Okolo said the innovation was necessary to ease customers stress and meet up with current developments, since the world is now a global village, where larger businesses are done online.

She said customers, who are interested in taking a taxi would need to download the Redclick app from Google play store or iStore to their smart phones and other gadgets and book for cab that will convey them to their destinations with ease.
According to her, the company is repositioning its taxi business by focusing on ICT.

Okolo explained that the app is the company’s new one-shop solution that would enable it widen the scope of its business activities.

“There is opportunity to sign-on partners and franchisees who wish to pull in fleet of vehicles into the app while assuring them a very impressive yield,” she said.

“We are trying to employ technology in rebranding our taxi business. We were using our call centre, which attracted so many patrons but things are changing across the world so we have to adapt.

“People are no longer interested in wasting time talking to people on what they need to do, they rather go online and get the problem solved. If you need a taxi today, just take your smart phone and click on Redclick app and you will book your taxi there,” Okolo said.

She disclosed that all the vehicles are tracked with accurate system to provide security for users and drivers.

Okolo said: “The information of the bookings you completed on the Redclick app will appear in the company’s system and the ride is monitored from start to finish.

“We have got a large number of cabs in the app, so cars are located everywhere and it is easy for the driver to reach the passenger wherever within a short space of time.”

On advertising, Okolo pointed out that Citrans Global Limited is open to adverts from corporate and non-corporate organisations on both long and short terms.

She said the organisation would continue to empower Nigerians through Drive-To-Own scheme, a scheme earns drivers cars ownership after two – three years of operation.
