Yobe to purchase N275m vehicles for lawmakers

Yobe State government is set to purchase 24 vehicles for all the Committee Chairmen of the State’s House of at the cost of N275,000,000.00 from Milestone Ventures Limited.

Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Aji Yerima Bularafa revealed this to newsmen after a State Executive Council Meeting held at the State House, Damaturu.

According to him, the 24 vehicles to be procured included 22 Units of 408 Peugeot; 1 Toyota Camry V6 and 1 Honda Accord for the lawmakers’ official duties and oversight functions.

The commissioner further explained that the Council meeting also approved the accessing of N3.4 billion Stabilization funds from the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, via a Consulting firm.

As part of steps to improve the state, it ratified the supply and installation of household furniture at the newly completed Staff Quarters of the 200 Bed Ultra Modern Hospital, Damaturu at the cost of N76,893,170.00, awarded to Green and Blue Nigeria Limited.

Bularafa said that approval was granted for the payment of compensation with regards to land acquired for building of 233 Nigerian Army Battalion Barracks in Damaturu, along Potiskum road at the cost of N191,880,000.00.

On the Boko Haram rehabilitation areas, the Council approved the rehabilitation of blown-off Katarko Bridge along Damaturu-Buni Yadi road, at the cost of N170,412,321.47.

The State Executive Council also approved the rehabilitation of Solar Street Light of the inner roads and ring roads in Damaturu at the cost of N556,405,263.00 to Jinabco International Limited.
