Clerk breaks into court, steals electronics in Otukpo

A certain Emmanuel Unobi, the Magistrate Court Clerk in Otukpo Benue State has been arrested for allegedly stealing items from his own court.

Unobi, DAILY POST gathered was few weeks back arrested by the local vigilante group in the area after he reportedly broke into a store and made away with provisions.

Just few days after his release, the accused also broke into the court where he is serving as a clerk and made away with electronics mounted in the court room.


Luck ran out of him when he was caught by residents of the area when trying to move the items including a plasma TV, stabilizer, among others.

He was subsequently charged to court and remanded in prison, but was latter granted bail earlier this week, alongside one of the Court’s security officer.

A source hinted that the security official was involved in the dirty deal.

The clerk was also reportedly demoted after the first incident before engaging himself in this recent one.
