According to an Abuja-based Lawyer Emeka Ugwuonye, a woman named Jackie Awah, pictured above with her husband, Lawrence, was allegedly brutalized by the police for having tattoos.

“I met with Jackie and Lawrence Awah. Jackie was brutalized by the police. Her crime was that she had a tattoo. DPA is investigating this case.
Meeting the Awahs today is a critical part of that investigation. Jackie and Lawrence are exceptional couple, soulmates, two love birds, blessed with two adorable kids, 13 and 10 years olds. I learnt that the young kids have an anthem for DPA which they plan to present to me."
