Soldiers Kill Scores Of Boko Haram In Borno

According to Vanguard, the Defence Twitter said it successfully broke through insurgents’ ambush, 35 kilometres to the state capital, as they advanced to dislodge insurgents who were gathering in the area.
It was said that the intense gun fight that ensued following the ambush left scores of insurgents dead, while 3 soldiers lost their lives in the offensive.
The Defence headquarters also revealed that seven other soldiers who sustained various degree of injuries during the operation have been taken to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention while troops have continued with their operation.
Meanwhile, it was reported on Wednesday that the Islamic sect had taken over one of the major routes linking Maiduguri, to the Southern parts of the state, which reportedly forced travelers to take other longer routes to their destinations.

It was gathered that those travelling to the Borno South had to go through Yode and Gombe States before turning Northwards to get to their destination, which most of the commuters described as hectic journey. It was further gathered that travelers going to Damboa and Biu were worst affected by the development.
