Pulse Sports have heard from a source about the death of former Nigeria international, Peter Ogaba.

Peter Ogaba is famous for being the youngest Nigerian player at the FIFA U-20 World Cup hosted by Saudi Arabia in 1989 where Nigeria lost in the final to eventual winners, Portugal.

He was also the youngest player to feature at the FIFA Under 17 World Cup at Canada '87.

The source revealed that Ogaba died on Friday, August 5 at Asokoro General Hospital, after a brief illness which started on Wednesday, August 3.

Ogaba made Nigeria's Golden Eaglets team at the age of 13 before playing for a professional club.

He had only played in the school team of Government Secondary School, Makurdi and was also in the state team.

He trained with nearby NNPC corporate workers team before moving to a local club called NTA Waves in Makurdi.

Before playing a competitive game, he was called up to the National School Festival in Minna in 1986 from where he was discovered.

He went on to play in Europe for KSC Lokeren in Belgium, FC Oulu in Finland, Duisburg in German, Desportivo Club Beja in Portugal, Leiftur in Iceland, Boldklub Hostelbus of Danmark etc.

Since hanging his boot in 2006, Ogaba has worked as a coach for Lobi Stars where he managed till he left in 2009.

He worked with FC Lokoja and after that kicked off his Academy in Abuja called Glory Sports.
