An All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Ondo state, Chief Jamiu Ekungba, on Thursday said it was shameful that oil-producing states could not pay workers’ salary.

Ekungba said this while speaking with newsmen shortly after submitting his nomination form for the governorship primaries at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

?According to him, Ondo, Bayelsa, Imo and Cross River states have no business owing their workers’ salary for months.


He said, ”most of the governors have run out of ideas on how to run their states.

”An oil-producing state owing salaries; can you imagine? That is because we don’t have the right leadership.”

On his capacity to turn around the fortune of the state if given the opportunity, Ekungba said that he had done it while running his private business and that he could increase the revenue of the state.

”I restructured a dead company back to life, so I can restore Ondo state back to life.”


He pledged to build an educational system that would develop students mentally, academically, morally, physically and spiritually. (NAN
