PDP cautions Anenih on impeachment comment

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees, BoT, Senator Walid Jibrin has cautioned his predecessor, Chief Tony Anenih, over his statement on the alleged impeachment threat against President Muhammadu Buhari.
Recall that the former BoT Chairman had, in a letter to the chairman of PDP caretaker committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, warned party members at the National Assembly against impeaching the President.

However, Jibrin cautioned the former BoT Chairman against making such comments, saying: “The statement by the Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, and other senators refuting the impeachment threat should be enough to put the matter to rest.”

He further admonished the opposition party’s caucus at the National Assembly to play politics of issues instead of focusing on individuals.
