Ondo Poll: Seven APC governorship aspirants pay N2million party development levy

Ahead of the governorship election in Ondo State, seven aspirants, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have paid the party’s N2 million development levy.
This was disclosed on Thursday at the party’s secretariat in Akure when one of the aspirants, Abiodun Aderin Adesida, came to the party secretariat in Akure to submit his letter of notification and pay the development levy.

No fewer than 51 people were said to be seeking the ticket of the party to contest the November 26 governorship election in the state.

According to the rules of the party, any aspirant who did not pay the development levy before July 25 will not be allowed to participate in the primary election.

Adesida, who is a former member of the House of Representatives, said he paid the development levy to signify his intention to contest the primaries of the party.

He promised to abide by the APC rules of conduct and accept the outcome of the party’s election, as well as work for the victory of whoever emerged candidate of the party.

The APC state chairman, Isaacs Kekemeke, said the development levy would be kept in a special account.

Kekemeke promised that the party would be fair to all aspirants.

Emphasising the need for unity in order to win the forthcoming election, he warned against anything that could cause rancour among the aspirants.

Other aspirants, who have paid the development levy are Senator Ajayi Boroffice, Hon. Bode Ayorinde, Segun Abraham, Bukola Adetula, Awodeyi Akinsehinwa and Paul Akintelure.

Another aspirant, Akinfehinwa, while presenting his own cheque to the APC Administrative Secretary, Hon. Smart Omodunbi said he had no doubt that the party would provide a level playing ground for all aspirants.

He said he was ready to follow the rules and regulations la!d down by the party.
