Nigeria to stop petrol importation by 2019 - Federal Executive Council

The Federal Executive Council yesterday declared that Nigeria will stop importation of petroleum products by 2019 and that fuel importation will be reduced by 60% by 2018.

According to Channels TV, the council members declared that all refineries in Nigeria will begin optimal production of petroleum products by 2017. With respect to the lingering fuel scarcity,
council members agreed that petrol supply is to be made available before the end of May.
