Controversy in Community as 7 Bodies Are Found in a Pit in Rivers State

According to a shocking report on DailyPost, at least seven dead bodies have been found inside a pit at Obibi community in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Speaking with a correspondent, a close source to the community said that the unidentified bodies were discovered following fresh violence in the area.

The source said, "There is a pit along Obibi where we saw the dead bodies. They are all male and we have reported to the community leaders. There have been heavy gun shooting since last weekend.

"We don’t know if it was the recent shooting that caused the death of the men. We want the police to come and see things for themselves."

Investigations indicate that the victims may have been killed during a shoot-out in Obibi in the community last week.

It was gathered that the killings are linked to cult related-violence, which is also believed to be driven by the bitter political rivalry in Rivers State.

Ahmad Muhammad, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, however said it had not been brought to his attention.
